The app: your data stays on your machine
Exsut stores everything locally in a SQLite database on your own device. Your tasks, budgets, journal entries, habits, and all other module data stay on your machine and are never sent to us. The app does not track what you do, build a profile of you, or send usage analytics to our servers. What you do in Exsut is your own business.
What the app connects to
Exsut itself makes only three kinds of network connection: validating your licence, checking for updates, and sending feedback if you choose to submit it. It does not connect to anything else, and it works fully offline once activated. A note for Windows users: Exsut runs inside Microsoft's WebView2 runtime, the display engine used by many Windows and Electron apps. WebView2 sends its own baseline diagnostics to Microsoft, separate from Exsut. This contains none of your app data, and we cannot switch it off from inside the app, but you can reduce it in Windows under Settings, Privacy and security, Diagnostics and feedback.
Licence activation
Activating your licence requires a one time internet connection. The activation process sends only your licence key and an anonymous device identifier to our servers. No personal information, no hardware details, and none of your app data. Your tasks, journal entries, finances, habits, and all other module content remain exclusively on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
This website: what we collect
When you sign up for updates or download the app, we collect your email address to send a confirmation, occasional product news, and (for downloads) to note that a download happened. Your email is stored in Resend (our email provider), is never sold or shared with third parties, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@exsut.com.
Payments
When you purchase a licence, Polar (our payment processor) collects your email address and payment details to process the transaction. We receive confirmation of your purchase and your email address to issue your licence key. We do not store your payment details. Polar's privacy policy applies to the checkout process.
Website analytics
This website uses Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregated traffic data: page views, referrers, and country level location. No cookies are used. No personal data is collected. Individual visitors are not tracked or identified.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you (your email address). To exercise these rights, email hello@exsut.com and we will respond within 30 days.
